Meeting called to order at 6:30 pm

 

Present: Leah Fickau, Deanna Quirk, Kathy Schneider Linda Soneberg & Bobbi Woppert. Telka Fickland was late.

Also present: Karla Lang

–Motion made by Deanna seconded by Cathy to have Leah chair the meeting until Telka arrives. Motion carried. Tekla arrive before the meeting went any further.

Minutes for approval.

–Motion made by Deanna seconded by Bobbi to approve the September 2017 minutes as corrected. Motion carried.

Treasurers Report. The Board went over the Treasurers Report. Motion made by Cathy seconded by Linda to approve the Treasurers Report. Motion carried.

Accounts Payable.

–Motion made by Deanna seconded by Kathy to approve the bills. Motion carried.

Librarian’s Report:

  • There will be less programs during the school year, with those we do have geared toward adults. The tea party was an amazing success. There were more than 40 moms and children present. Pictures are available for viewing on facebook.
  • There will be a civil war event on Wednesday night at 6:30. It is regarding people from the Village and Town that participated in the war. There will be a photographer coming on Tuesday the 14th of November for a program at 6:30 pm. There will be a memory screening done by Waukesha County ADRC the morning of November 21st.
  • The following new magazines subscriptions have been ordered; National Geographic, Vogue, the Pioneer Woman, and Mary Janes Farm.
  • The library now gets the Waukesha Freeman 5 times a week.

Discussion of Budget Hearing:

Karla told the board about the changes she had to make to the budget. At her meeting with finance they were fine with the changes she made.

Library Fund Balance:

Tekla is working with Shelli Marquardt to give a presentation on investing some of the Fund Balance.

–Motion made by Cathy seconded by Deanna to go into closed session as per WI Statue 19.85(1)(c), considering employment, promotion compensation or performance evaluation data on any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility, specifically library director.

–Motion made by Leah seconded by Kathy to resume open session. Roll call vote: Leah-yes; Linda-yes; Cathy-yes; Kathy-yes; Deanna-yes; Bobbi-yes. Motion carried.

There was no discussion or action on item discussed in closed session.

–Motion made by Linda seconded by Deanna to adjourn. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:43 pm.
